Kamala Harris was elected the first female district attorney of San Francisco in 2003. He then won two terms as Attorney General of California. She was the first Indian American to serve as a US Senator as well as the second African American woman.
Kamala Harris has earned her reputation as a rising star of the Democratic Party. Kamala filed a nomination in the Democratic Party’s internal candidacy against Joe Biden to become the country’s first female president in 2020. Kamala Harris’s full name is Kamala Devi Harris. He was born on October 20, 1964 in Auckland, California. Her mother, Shyama Gopalan Harris, was born in Chennai and was a cancer researcher who died in 2009 and her father Donald Harris is a Jamaican who currently teaches at Stanford University. When Harris and his younger sister Maya Harris were very young, their parents separated. After studying political science and economics (BA, 1986) at Howard University, Kamala earned a law degree (1989) from Hastings College.

Kamala Harris worked as a deputy district attorney (1990–98) in Oakland in 1990 after completing her education. She was acclaimed for her toughness, as Harris prosecuted gang violence, drug trafficking and sexual abuse cases. Harris rose through the ranks, becoming District Attorney in 2004. In 2010 she was elected General Attorney General of California – won by less than 1 percent – becoming the first woman and the first African American to hold the position.
After assuming office the following year, he demonstrated political independence, for example, under pressure from the president’s administration. It won five times more decisions than the proposal originally introduced in 2012. The refusal to defend Proposition 8 (2008), which banned same-sex marriage in the state, helped it move forward in 2013. A model was also devised to tackle the problem of criminal recurrence.
